HAT PhotoMagician, Convert Images at the drop of a Hat If you constantly need to convert and/or resize pictures to use them in your blog, or twitter, Facebook etc. This is the ultimate tool. Photo magician allows you to set your preferences and it will convert your single photos or folders by Drag’n’Drop.

Drop your pictures or a folder containing pictures into the hat, and pull out … [Drum Roll] … well, maybe not a White Rabbit, but you get the idea I would think.

scratcheddvd main Full Save an Unreadable CD or DVD and Recover Data [How To]I remember back when (in 1985) CDs hit the market. “They are practically indestructible”, “you can jump on them”, “Spill Jam on them”. The appraisal had no limit. The CDs were the ultimate sound and storage system.

Now, we know better. If your CD or DVD gets a scratched surface – it’s virtually unreadable. Which Is why many make backup copies of their disks – before they get damaged.

What do you do, if you don’t have backups?

There are many freeware applications that may save the contents of a scratched disk, tho the end result will depend on how scratched the surface is. Here’s my tip on how to make the unreadable, readable – again.

startED 220x220 Interview with Joseph Moran & Kevin Otnes; Book Review of Getting StartED Windows 7Joseph Moran and Kevin Otnes are both writers who have a long history in technical documentation and other tech-related endeavours. In this interview, we get to know Kevin and Joseph and then I’ll share a little about their book “Getting StartED Windows 7″ (Amazon)

Interview with Joseph Moran & Kevin Otnes

RICH: Joe, you say you like to play Tennis; what else do you like to do outside of the world of computers?

JOE: I’m a big movie fan, though considering the way I watch most of them– on Blu-Ray disc or via digital download– I guess that barely qualifies as outside the realm of computers. Considering how much time I spend seated in front of glowing screens, I do try to get outdoors as often as possible– biking is another activity I’ve recently rediscovered (though with a GPS mounted to the handlebars, even that isn’t quite computer-free!).

7e224fa0 Enable Dreamscene in Windows 7 [How to]

Windows DreamScene is a utility that allows videos and other optimized animations to be used as desktop wallpapers

Note:  You must have Aero enabled.

Here’s how it’s done;

CONS: While necessary, installation can take over an hour. Difficult to customize which programs you want to see on the list.

VERDICT: LiberKey is a great program that can be used as a toolkit on the go. If you help friends with their computer’s, this will take you a long way. Just like any Thumb drive program bundle, you get a lot of what you don’t need and are sometimes left without your favorite programs, which you’ll have to install separately.

PRICE: Free
