After downloading the standalone SP1 today, I found Uninstalling a pre-release version of Vista SP1 in order to install the official release can be a little tricky. In this guide you’ll learn how to remove the beta service pack from your system and update to the official release.
Simply, you reverse the process of deploying the the Beta Service Pack 1 on your system.
1. Navigate to Control Panel, and under Programs choose Uninstall a Program.
2. In the Task menu on the left hand side, click on View Installed Updates.
3. Find “Windows Service Pack” or something along those lines and press Uninstall.
This will take some time.
