Windows has a whole host - 90 to be exact - of shell folders. These folders include your pictuers, music, and documents folders as well as fonts, program files and more. Did you know you can get to them easily without the need to open Computer and find them? Learn how in this guide.
To navigate to a shell folder, do the following:
- Press the Start button and click Run (Winkey + R)
- Type one of the commands listed below:

When I enter any of these commands, I receive the following notification:
“The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect”.

These should be run in the Run box (WINKEY+R) and not on the command line.
