Vize is a GUI enhancer for Windows Vista

Vize is a GUI enhancer for Windows Vista. It replaces most of the non-Vista icons, animations and bitmaps that Microsoft is still overlooking.

Vize automates the process of replacing resources in system files, applying the real fit and finish to Windows Vista.

Want More Icons?

Check out more icon collections on www.Mintywhite.com or learn how to use these on a dock in Windows.

What does it do?

The patching process will not disable Vista’s built-in security features. Vize will automatically restore all files and folder permissions, making your Vista experience nicer without sacrificing security.

After Vize: (Reminds me of a [Proactive] advert - NOTE: Aero is now enabled too :P)

After Installing Vize

How do I get a copy?

Vize does not contain any spyware or ad-ware of any kind.
If you are not satisfied with the results, you can completely uninstall Vize.
Vize is compatible with any version (except x64) and any language of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.

This not only works very well but it actually does more than I first suspected. Excellent tool

Avast gives Win32:Bifrose-DNO [Trj] warning when trying to download installer. have tried various mirrors and all affected. not sure if this is a known false posative but thought I should mention.

Some people may not see the need for Vize because it just “fluffs” up Vista’s UI even more, but I can assure you it’s not a trojan. It does change some system files, but will fully restore your system at your request.

Rich,
I’m sure you’re correct but as the project has been discontinued (last entry jan 4 ) was not sure what might have happened. as it is its only avast that flags it ( checked on virus total today http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/2909e0fe4727e29c20b8a8d77adb59ba ). it,s probably a false posative which is unusuall for avast with me. keep up the good work :)

just to update previous comment.

have let Vize through AV and installed just completed AV scan with Avast and all clear so was false poitive.
Then again better a false positive than a false negative, and an infection IMHO

Vista refuses to install Vize: NSIS Error

Vize is really cool, it’s like VTP for Vista lol!
If you receive the error that offers using the /NCRC command line, just open Notepad, type in this:

@echo off
title Opening Vize…
start vize11bfull.exe /NCRC

and save the file as vize.bat (NOT vize.bat.txt!) in the same folder where is the Vize installer located. Doubleclick it, and a black window should open, and soon after that the Vize installer should run. Haven’t tried myself, but it should work.
About avast. Avast is famous for its false positives. Don’t take them seriously this time, Vize is clean. :-)

Well it seems Microsoft also like vize as the icon shown for device manager in Windows 7 is the one pictured in the “after vize” pic. I guess they became yet another company bought out by MS.
