Microsoft released a test drive engine that you can use to test drive Windows Vista SP1 online. You don’t need to install any software (unless you are not up to date with Active X.)
Simply head here and take a tour of Windows Vista or view a screenshot tour before continuing. This tour certainly puts my website tour to shame.
Test Drive Windows Vista
Visit the site, enter your e-mail address, and the tour begins. I had trouble getting this to work with Firefox (naturally), so you may need to use Internet Explorer.
Select a CategorySelect are category to learn about from the following: Safer, Easier, Reliable, or Versatile. |
|
After selecting a category, press Enter. | |
Read About Windows Vista’s FeaturesSelect an icon which corresponds to what you want to learn about. I chose Ready Boost. |
|
Watch Videos to Learn About Vista’s FeaturesYou can then watch videos or read more about the features that are unique to Windows Vista. |
|
Demo Windows Vista’s DesktopSome selections let you open a demo desktop where you can select a lot of the options on the screen. A lot of work must have gone into this. |
|
Demo ApplicationsI am surprised at how much you can do with the demo. Here is a screenshot of me looking at Windows Media Center. |
Enjoy the website and let me know your thoughts on what you see.
