Resolving Computer Errors Related To Printer Issues

How frustrating is it when you give a print command, and instead of a printed document in your hand, you are left staring at an error on your computer screen?

Today’s printers when compared to the ones used in yesteryears seem to have come a long way. Printers used today are savvier, offer more features, require less maintenance, and cost less. But one aspect remains unchanged, printers remain as error-prone as before. The good news is that printer errors are fairly simple to resolve.

The next time you encounter a printer error, such as the hpqgpc01.exe error, perform the following steps to diagnose the cause and resolve the error.

Update your printer software

Printers, being hardware do not speak the language that your operating system can understand. The communication between your printer and your Windows operating system is controlled by software. In case your printer software is outdated, you may encounter random error messages on your screen.

When you encounter a printer error, first determine if your printer software is up-to-date or not. Install the latest available updates and check to see if this fixes the error.

Uninstall and reinstall the printer software

If your printer software is already up-to-date, or the error refuses to budge even after you have installed the latest updates, then uninstall your printer software using the built-in Add or Remove Programs utility and reinstall it.

At times, errors such as the spoolsv.exe error may occur either when this file is damaged, or when some other file(s) associated with the printer software is damaged, missing, or corrupt.

When you uninstall a program, all its associated files and processes are removed. Similarly, when you reinstall or install a program all the files required by the program to function properly are saved on your hard disk. In other words, if the printer error is occurring due to missing or damaged software files, the problem is likely to disappear when you reinstall the software.

Update your printer drivers

Outdated drivers are another common cause of printer errors. Either use a reliable third-party driver update tool or visit the website of the driver manufacturers’ website to install the latest available updates.

Perform a malware scan

Another common cause of printer-related errors, such as the hpqthb08.exe error, is malware infection. Malware programs are notorious for deleting or altering important application and system files. The result, as you can guess, is the occurrence of random errors.

To fix errors occurring due to malware infection, remove the malware from your Windows PC. To do this, first restart your Windows computer in Safe Mode and then run a malware scan using your protective software.

In the end, remember computer errors are not resolved by chance but by adopting a methodical approach. Use the steps listed above to not only fix, but also prevent various printer errors.
