If you are one of the many who are testing Windows 7, you may have noticed the “Send Feedback” link on every window’s title bar. In this guide, you’ll learn how to remove the link manually or by applying a registry hack.
Please Note: This guide involves working with the Windows Registry. If this is your first time editing the registry, please read this guide to get you started. Learn how to backup and restore your registry here.
Download the Registry Hack
If you don’t feel confident working with the Registry Editor, you can download this registry hack. Simply extract the file and double click on Remove Send Feedback.reg.
Log off and on again to put the changes into effect
Manual Registry Hack
If you prefer to make changes yourself, do the following:
- Start Registry Editor (Start > Run > “regedit”)
- Press Yes to continue
- In the left panel, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Control Panel > Desktop
- Find the key FeedbackToolEnabled, double click on it, and set the value to 0 (zero)
Log off and on again to put the changes into effect
There is not FeedbackToolEnabled Key
- If the key does not exist, create a new DWORD value named FeedbackToolEnabled
- Set the value to 0 to disable the send feedback link
Log off and on again to put the changes into effect
