Personally, I am not a fan of the gimmicky sounds that have accompanied Windows throughout the years. Admittedly, they don’t sound like you made them on a Gameboy anymore; however, the last thing I want is for the sound to play if I turn on my laptop during class etc. In this guide, you’ll learn how to disable the Windows startup sound in Vista.
Disable the Startup Sound
1. Click on the Start button and type Sound. Select Sound and hit Enter.
2. Click on the Sounds tab and remove the check from Play Windows Startup sound
3. Press OK
Now you wont have to worry about class members turning around when you turn your laptop on during the lecture.
