[Solution] Error 651: The modem has reported an error

Posted by Taylor Ling On December - 13 - 20107 COMMENTS

error651kj8 [Solution] Error 651: The modem has reported an errorYou try to initiate the dialer in Windows 7 and only found that it doesn’t work and returned with an Error 651: Your modem (or other connecting device) has reported an error. You had tried to restart your PC, your router, your modem etc. and the problem doesn’t go away.

The Possible Solutions

It is not hard to find that there are a number of users encounter this issue on the internet, but surprisingly this error bugs some of the Windows 7 (Beta or even RTM) users and it seems that there is actually no official solution for it.

There are, however, a lot of workarounds, suggested, of course, by other users. If you have this problem in Windows 7 (or may be Windows Vista/XP as some of the solutions works on these operating systems, too), check out what I have found for the possible solutions for this error:

WMC TV for your PC

Back in a previous post (add a tuner) we talked about the features available in the TV section of Windows Media Center made possible by the installation of a TV tuner card.

Windows 7 Resource Monitor Icon Use Resource Monitor to Check Key Subsystems on Your PC [How To]In earlier versions of Windows, you’d need a third-party solution to help you monitor key subsystems (CPU, RAM etc.) of your computer. GRemote – Control Your Computer Using Your Phone

Posted by Thomas On November - 23 - 20102 COMMENTS

b.200.200.16777215.0.stories.GRemotePro.GCenter GRemote – Control Your Computer Using Your PhoneI have a friend who is all MAC. Everything in his house is MAC-Something. Phone, sound system, stereo, tv, the works. What’s neat about his setup is the ability to control everything via his iPhone. Whenever he wants to put on some music, watch some TV, play a game, he taps his iPhone app, choose the playlist and Presto …  no matter where in the house he is . Being a bit envy – and not being able to afford an entire MAC-based setup –  I checked to see if I could find something usable for my Windows Mobile or my Android Mobile. And guess what? I Did… for both!
