Posted by Thomas On July - 18 - 201011 COMMENTS

win98plus Going Retro, using Windows 98 Plus! ThemesThese days ‘Going Retro’ is all over the place. Fashion, home design, artwork etc. If you’re all Retro Fan, or just feeling nostalgic,  by all means read on.

Create Your Own Handwritten Font

Posted by Thomas On July - 2 - 201012 COMMENTS

yourfonts 500x390 Create Your Own Handwritten FontIt being summer and all I thought I’d come up with something fun to be working on, while I sit indoors, waiting for the sun to come back on(line). A while back I was working on a design for some company diplomas, and I wanted a special font to use when typing the participant name(s), making it look handwritten.

I found a site that offers to convert your own handwritten letters to a usable TrueType Font. This site used to be free, but now they charge you $10 to actually download the finished font ($14,95 if you create a 200 character font). But if you really like to have your own unique typeface it might be worth the price. So if you’re an aspiring font creator or simply want a special font unlike any other, here’s how…

Posted by Thomas On May - 21 - 20106 COMMENTS

KeyboardLocked Lock your Keyboard and Mouse, Not your Computer If you have cats or other pets (and kids) running loose around your house, you might have experienced that when you go away for a few minutes, you return to a document where they have “typed” their own indecipherable language. Might be a fun read, at first. But if this get to be an annoying situation, what do you do ?

Lock your Computer ?

Well, yes, you can do that. It’s just that, it too gets quite annoying over time. It takes too much time to “recover” from the Locked State. Even using the Windows-Key + L combination. If only you could type the Windows-Key + L combination to Unlock as well (Microsoft; if you’re reading this, it’s a free tip for you).

Lock Only your Keyboard and/or Mouse

I have come across a small freeware that let you not only lock your keyboard and Mouse, but also lets you decide HOW locked down they should be, while keeping the rest of your computer Un-Locked.
