  13. Mel says:

I can’t help but wonder how this would affect your memory…my main machine is getting fairly old so I hesitate to have any more programs constantly running – but if these aren’t too bad I might give them a shot..

  14. Mel says:

Not sure if this is sarcasm or if you really are serious..

  15. Mel says:

    Try Revo uninstaller..

  16. Mel says:

Lol – although I don’t think I’d ever use them myself, I certainly wouldn’t call them pointless.

  17. Mel says:

Personally, I don’t even think it looks better…but that is me…

  18. Mel says:

Linux actually has pretty good driver support now – and there is plenty of open software for word processing and such so it is definitely good for more than just servers. It does have its limitations (most things that aren’t windows do) but I certainly wouldn’t write it off as a one-trick pony.

  19. Mel says:

If you truly think that they are more secure then you need to do some research. Just because they don’t have the abundance of viruses doesn’t mean that they are more secure – it just means that MANY more people use windows than anything else.

  20. Mel says:

Because an OS isn’t just all about how it looks..

  21. Mel says:

But you see – it really isn’t easier! If I were to switch OS I would have to sacrifice a lot of software and back up all my data and then try to make it all play nice with the new OS. If I install one of these that is all I need to do. Sounds much easier to just stick with the same OS!

  22. Mel says:

Because windows has no “security features”?? I think they work harder than anyone to make their OS secure.
