The results from my mini poll last week is in. I wanted to know how many of you out there use more than one monitor on your main computer, and if so which software you were using. We received 271 entries during the week the poll was open and the results was quite surprising (to me anyways).
Only 21% of you use one monitor, but as many as 79% use more…
I was not aware that dual (and triple) monitor setup was so common. AS you can read from the diagram below 57% have two, and 10% have three monitors. Amongst the 4% others there were one that claimed to use 6! Now That I would LOVE to see a photo of. So if you are reading this, please send us a photo of your setup.
Wallpaper
When it comes to wallpaper, the settings vary, a lot. 21% use a single image stretching across all (I imagine this also includes those with one monitor). 25% have different image for each monitor, and as many as 36% use the Windows Default background. Now how would have thought that ? I personally can’t stand the blue default one in windows 7. The rest (17%) stated they have another setup, which included one who said: “I use all of the above at different time”. Some claimed BLACK to be their background. This number also has several blank answers so the result may not be totally correct.
Software
Which software do you use to control the setup of monitors? 65% has stuck with the built-in windows control, 15% use UltraMon and a total of 11% use the Actual multiple Monitors program that we told you about not so long ago.
Thank you for participating
One of the main reasons for doing this poll was to get to know you better, trying to write articles that you might find interesting. Polls like this helps us do that. So thank you for participating.

I must admit, i’m very surprised as much as 65% have a dual monitor setup. Even more surprising is that the same percentage let Windows manage the setup.
Interesting…….
I don’t think you can compare those numbers directly, because the manage question allowed for multiple answers. And was also probably answered by those who only use one monitor as well.
