PROS: Comes with case, small and lightweight, looks good, easy to use, great sound quality and microphone, touch buttons, input via Bluetooth and USB, output via 3.5mm jack
CONS: Quite expensive (although all professional products seem to have a similar price tag).
VERDICT: A modern, simplistic and easy-to-use speaker. The MS version works brilliantly with voice and music plays well too. Although it is relatively expensive, it is certainly worth the price!

Jabra Speak 510 Features

Design and Interface

From looking at the Speak 510, it is very clear that Jabra have done a lot of research and spent a lot of time on the design of the device as the 510 has a very modern look.

There are 8 touch-panel ‘soft’ buttons on the unit (going around the unit, battery, mute, bluetooth, volume down, answer call, power, end call, volume up). There are also 12 LEDs going around the unit to show statuses. These look very cool when you are adjusting the volume, checking battery status or turning mute on as all of the LEDs are used for these.

It also gives verbal updates and instructions. For example, when connected to a device it says “Connected” and, when you hold the Bluetooth button down (to pair a new device), it says “Go to the Bluetooth menu on your mobile device and connect to Jabra Speak 510”.

Even without a screen or using the Jabra PC Suite program, it is easy to see what is going on using the helpful lights and prompts.

Functionality

As well as having a brilliant design, the 510 is very functional too.

You can either connect your device via Bluetooth (using built-in Bluetooth if you have, or the Jabra Link 360 dongle) or USB (using the 3 foot cable wrapped around the unit). The USB is plug-and-play and will charge the device while connected.

There is also a 3.5mm jack allowing you to connect headphones to participate in a private conversation.

The sound quality of the device is great for voice. When playing music it was also very good – better than some other mini speakers I have seen although it was lacking bass somewhat.

The talk time of the device is up to 15 hours, which is excellent considering it needs to maintain a Bluetooth connection. While testing it I have seen the battery perform very well and I have only had to charge it very rarely.
