I am unable to use windows unless I use the option of using the last known good configuration.
I have tried disabling everything, reinstalling the drivers for the motherboard, sound, and video. I ran four different anti virus and anti malware programs. I check for part failure. I am at a standstill on what to do. I get no error messages or anything.

rno2 - Have you considered a "System Recovery" ?? - But you might lose saved files with this option ....... but that sounds like the least of your problems at the moment! ...... :?

Hi

If you have windows XP SP3 then uninstal SP3. Prior this download from Microsoft a fresh copy of SP3. After uninstal reboot then clean registry and old files then instal SP3 and reboot.

Problem is solved. I had to re-install SP3, it became corrupted somehow. I was unable uninstall it because the original installer was missing. So I just re-installed it and it solved the problem.
Thank you. I would never had thought of this.

Unfortunately there was an easier and a better way to solve this problem , you can run chkdsk utility , from dos , not while using windows , this is utility you can run it by repairing windows , that wouldve solve the problem , sorry for being late though , cheers
