Suppose I am going to install 100 XP in 100 PC with identical hardware configuration in a quick succession.Normally it will take some 3 to 4 days. But I want to install not more than in one days.It is possible with symantec ghost. But is there any other free utility in web. Please give me the name of the utility if found then send the installation documents.

With thnks

Hey Bappa,
It's highly unlikely there will be a free utility for this job.
Check this thread out. Seems relevant.

Well you must have 100 licences or you have a server! :D

the thing is that if there is no OS on the pc then you cannot connect to it to instal from a server. :?

You end up with manual installation with a boot cd and activation. :ugeek:

However you can prepare a live cd using nlite that you can add the licence and other add ons so that installation of xp will be smoother. Bur preparing this cd can take sometime and you have to burn 100 cds having 100 different licence!

By using a remote access you can possibly: Automate Windows XP installations using the Setup Manager and a CD-ROM drive.

Remote Installation Services (RIS) is a feature in Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 Server that allows network administrators to install Windows 2000 or Windows XP to any number of client computers at one time from a centralized location.

i think that you could use the N lite program

its a great program
you can also add some programs on it so you will have a windows with a pre-installed programs on it

Try Acronis Echo Enterprise , it's For Advanced Users , and not anyone use , you can say , IT PROFESSIONALS from big companies actually use it to back up there system , but there is a utility , that you can copy entire partition on the Network , and a PS : i recommend the you do not copy a partition on the network , unless your network card is a 1000 ! cuz of the speed , you will wait forever while copying , but ther's a good trick that i made in my work , which is , i made a partition to image , i saved the image on a dvd , so each time i need a new pc to get installed the same , i make partition from image ! , which i slice my hard drive in two partition and put the image on d , and copy the partition from d to c :), of course this is a handicap , when you dont have enough space to plug 100 computers in electricity right? ;)cheers
