Ready Boost on vista is actually just virtual memory. here is how to set ready boost in XP:
1. right click computer, than click properties,
2. go to the advanced tab, click settings for performance,
3. go to the advanced tab in the perfromance options window, than click change in the virtual memory section,
4. in the drive selection, select your flash drive, click custom size, and set as much as you like.
I would have a 2gb virtual memory. but i use my 16 gb HP flash drive for 4 gb. the most you can do is 4096 mb.
hope this help! comment plz. GO TO: www.ultimatetweakers.webs.com

I have to put a caveat in here, sorry JustinzHereNow:
This is a great tip for those with very little hard drive space, but keep in mind when you move XP Virtual Memory (swap file) from a hard drive to a USB stick you could be sacrificing performance. Windows XP uses virtual memory to store information that is not currently active in physical memory RAM.
USB 2.0 has theoretical maximum transfer rate of 400-480 Mbit/s depending which version of USB 2.0 bus your computer has. That's 50MB/s (megabytes per second) on a good bus. Current hard drive and drive controller rates vary from 70MB/s to 300MB/s depending on drive spin rate, head seek time and the bus it's connected to (SATA, PATA, ATA, IDE, EIDE, etc.). a 7200RPM SATA hard drive is getting around 150-250MB/s transfer rate, which makes the "swap" of inactive RAM pages to virtual memory and back that much faster.
On XP, if you are limited on hard drive space or nearly out, this tip will help you reclaim some of that space (although XP always requires a minimum 256MB swap file on the main system drive). If you are a power user who maximizes memory using CAD, drawing or video apps, or games, then you performance may suffer a little.

I know this is going to come off very very sarcastic, but here goes...
Readyboost on XP! No way! If I use a 2 GB flash drive with that, I'll have enough RAM to run a better OS like Windows 7! Yes!

Yea, but the speed also depends on the quality of the flash drive.

Very true, but i don't think that there are many Flash Drives currently on the market that wouldn't be able to handle it.

However Vista and Windows 7 have this as default feature, so there is no need for additional programs.
