I pay for internet service that is up to 7MBPS but speed at which I can browse seems pretty slow. Does anyone know some simple fixes to speed up web browsing?

You might try Opera's 10 beta 2; it has what they call "Opera Turbo".

What it does basically is compresses data so that browsing seems faster on slower speeds.

use safari 4 for speed, chrome for safeness, and firefox for add ons. i use safari and chrome the most. if you use mozilla, go to this link for how to make firefox faster, witch is pretty slow for me:
Part 1: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1714
Part 2: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1715
Part 3: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1716

or just go to the general computer and support forums to see the tweaks.

I know this sounds obvious... but it seems I always have to say it. Speeds from ISP's are advertised in megabits, not megabytes. A megabyte is 1/8th that of a megabit. So divide your 7 megabits by 8 and you should be getting maximum download speeds of approx. 875 kilobytes (kbs) per second. If you're not, check to make sure your hardware supports the fastest speeds (1000 megabit/AKA gigabit ethernet), wireless will of course be a little slower, and firewalls may also slow down downloads if certain ports are not open, etc. or you are using deep-packet inspection. There are so many possible bottlenecks from the ISP to your computer that sometimes it's difficult to find them on networks, but good luck!

i think we have something in commend :D
you love mac dont you and as it seems you love everything about it
now i agree with you that Safari is an amazing internet browser
but it has this thing , it doesnt have that support out there
from my experience with Internet Browser i found out that the best to use is FireFox
you might be surprised but its really the best you could get
im not saying that Safari isnt awesome but still it needs some time to be like FF (( like rich ))
dont you agree ;)

Although I have a love/hate relationship with Google (love how they revolutionized search & internet use, hate how they collect & sell usage data - Big Brother...), I've started using Chrome, and am really really impressed. It really is fast, uses WebKit to full advantage, and supports the newest internet technology. I recommend it.
