I recently received a Microsoft LifeCam VX-5000. I installed it and every attempt to use it results in a message indicating that the lifecam.exe has failed and needs to close. All attempts to correct the problem have failed. All updates have been downloaded, the drivers have been updated, and I am out of options. I need some help, please.

osceola1956 - I don't have a solution to your problem but about a year ago I bought a Microsoft LifeCam too, it froze my pc and I took it straight back to the store and exchanged it for a Logitech Cam instead, which works perfectly! I couldn't quite understand why a Microsoft Cam wouldn't work on a Microsoft OS .....!?! :?

In all honesty I'm beginning to think that my only answer to this problem is to get another cam. Thanks for the reply.

Sounds like a good idea actually, as this Google page shows that lots of people have had problems with various models of the MS LifeCam! http://www.google.co.uk/search?rlz=1C1G ... m+problems
As I said earlier, I have had no trouble with the Logitech Cam I bought .... it works fine and no problems. :)
