Hi
I hope someone can help, I have windows vista ultimate, and for some reason my network icon and volume icon keeps disapperaing from the notification area. I have clicked on start then clicked on properties, under notification area, the volume and network is greyed out, the only one that is on is the clock, no matter what I do I cannot put ticks in these boxes.
Yet a couple of days ago I did exactly the same, and was able to tick volume and network and applied it, but today they have gone and the box is grey, this has happened in the last month - but I do not know why. I do hope someone can help with this.

Thanks Anna :?:

try these:

method 1: log off and log back on.

method 2: go to task manager, and then got to process, click explore.exe and click end task. then click new task, type in explorer.exe.

method 3: download this:
http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/wp-co ... yicons.reg

right click the file and click merge. then restart explorer.exe like in method 2.

Did you fix this problem? hope you did!

Here's the file you should use in method 3.
I cannot confirm it works though!
