I normally use Google Chrome as my web browser...but sometimes i use Firefox due to the various capabilities the different add-on's give..
But lately i have noticed that if i use firefox my laptop does not shut down, i need to hold the power key for about 5 seconds to switch off my laptop...i am using Vista Home Premium. I tried reinstalling firefox, but the still the problem did not leave me for good...Need help

You should try and avoid 'hard resetting' at all costs.
How do you know it's FF causing the issue?
Which version of FF do you use?
Do you use x86 or x64 Windows?
Have you tried taskkill /f /im firefox.exe before you attempt to shutdown?
Do you have many extensions enabled in FF?

OK, well try opening Firefox as you normally would.
Then open a command prompt and type in: taskkill /f /im firefox.exe then try and shutdown.
