i was gonna install w7 using my usb. after plugging the usb when i wrote DISKPART in the command prompt it showed :

' ... encountered a problem. the service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enable devices associated with it. see the system event log ... '

i wrote diskpart in search bar of the start menu. the diskpart. exe appeared but it automatically colsed down ...

how to enable it ??? please help ... it's urgent ...

Open an elevated command prompt and try.

Also, you can achieve the same thing through disk management (try click 'Computer > Manage > Disk Management')
Try doing that instead of going through cmd.

does it open with administrator privileges????

no ... even with administrator privilege it doesn't open i also downloaded the diskpart.exe n tried to run. it ran n immediately it closed down.

i also noticed one thing that last time when i installed w7 i tried to break the partition n create new partitions using the w7 dvd. but the 'delete partition' button was not enabled n i cudnt create new partitions. was that somehow related to this diskpart ???

If you're using the stick to install Windows 7, just formatting it will do.
Where did you download diskpart from btw?

Pressing WinKey+R and typing cmd will open the command prompt with admin privileges.
