Chrome OS is now available from http://www.gdgt.com. join and you get chrome OS for free. You also have to have a gmail account to sign in chrome OS.

1. Go to http://www.gdgt.com and join.

2. Download Chrome OS: http://gdgt.com/google/chrome-os/download/. Its only 300 mb.

3. Download VMware 3.0 for free.

Windows: http://www.vmware.com/products/player/

Mac: http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/

4. make a free gmail account here:

5. Install vmware. may take some time.

6. In vmware:

a: create a new virtual machine,

b: select you will make the operating system later, guest operating system: other, version: other, or other 64-bit.(select regular if you have 32 bit)

c: name it what ever you want, then choose the size: make it like 3 or 4 gb. leave it to 1 file.

d: than click finish.

7. go to wher you saved your virtual machine(most likely in your Docs) open the folder.

8 drag the chrome os vmdk file to that folder. delete your old vmdk file, and then rename the one you downloaded the name of the virtual machine ou named. like I named my virtual machine Google Chrome OS, I deleted the old one, and drag the one I downloaded from gdgt.com and renamed the new vmdk file Google Chrome OS.

9. Now go back to Vmplayer and open the new virtual machine you made. chrome OS will boot in about 10 seconds.

10. Sign in chrome OS with your Gmail account.
