Hi All
I'm very new to this forum and would appreciate some help on the above. I've been using W7 RC for a couple of weeks now without any bother until yesterday, when I just can't get past the Welcome screen. I've tried the little that I know like starting in Safe Mode and the usual re-boot without success: anyone had this problem and if so how did you solve it? It's infuriating just watching the blue circle spinning around and around forever as if it's in a never ending loop. Thanks for any input on this.

Hey jos21 :D
First things first, what is the make & model of your PC (including specs)?
Where there any software or hardware changes before this issue immerged?

And apart from the SP install, where there any other software or hardware changes?
I assume it's W7 RC (Build 7100) 32bit?

No, nothing that I can think of. It's just yesterday this annoyance started after having a good two weeks trial and yes it's the 7100 build, I'm sure. Of course I can't get into W7 to confirm that but I'm pretty sure that's it.

Are you able to log into any other account, or even get to the login screen?
Try a few of these things and see if they work.

1. Upon rebooting press F8 (or similar) to get the advanced boot options menu up. Try choosing 'Last known good configuration'
2. In the same advanced boot options menu, choose 'Load unsigned Drivers' (or something similar)
3. If it was a DVD you used to install, boot from that and execute Startup Repair.

If none of this works let us know :D

You Sir, are a star. Your option 1 did the trick and am now pleased to say I am now, once again, a happy camper. Of course there was no need to go further than that option, however should any other little niggles reappear I know exactly where to go to find a solution. Salut !!!
