Restoration Recovers Deleted a Lost Files

Posted by Rich On July - 17 - 2009

Losing files can be a real pain and sometimes files are irreplaceable. If you have deleted files from your computer and emptied them out the recycle bin, there is still hope. Previously, I’ve covered a program called Recuva, which scans your hard drive for deleted files and attempts to restore them. I have had great success with Recuva, but it is not always found the files I’m looking for. It doesn’t hurt to try different programs and different approaches so I tried a program called Restoration.

Posted by Rich On July - 10 - 2009

Tunnelier

If you run a website or have a remote Linux server, Tunnelier is a great solution for your connection needs. Tunnelier functions as an SMTP client and gives you a fully functional terminal to work with. I use Tunnelier for all my websites and it does everything I need. I try programs like FileZilla, WinSCP, and FireFTP, but this is by far the best solution.

RightDelete and SDelete Delete Your Files Permanently

Securely delete your files

Actually no; when you delete a file from the recycle bin (or SHIFT+DEL from Explorer), the file is just dereferenced. As long as the data isn’t overwritten, the file is completely recoverable–and may be for sometime if the space isn’t needed. In this guide, you’ll learn about two tools you can use to permanently delete files from your hard drive: RightDelete (GUI) and SDelete (command line.)

USB Lost and Found Helps You Get Your Thumb Drive Back

Posted by Rich On April - 17 - 2009

If you’ve ever lost a USB drive before, this will be something you wish you had. If you haven’t lost one yet, then you should install this on your USB drive as soon as possible. I’ve lost two drives in the past; luckily both drives didn’t have any sensitive information on them, but I wonder if I would have got either back if I’d had this program.

USB Lost and Found simply puts a message up each time you put your drive in, which contains your contact information. The person who finds your drive can then get in contact and return your drive to you. If you are willing to pay $3.49 $8.99 for the Pro version, you get lockdown mode, which password protects your data too.
